EC - E what? Elevation Certificate (nothing to do with elevators)

EC - E what?  Elevation Certificate (nothing to do with elevators: )  What is it and why might you need one?  An Elevation Certificate is an important tool that documents your building’s elevation. This Fact Sheet provides valuable information for homeowners about elevation certificates and flood insurance. This link explains why your insurance company may require you to have one.  They previous owner, insurance company, county, builder or city may have an older one.  Otherwise, either the Buyer or Seller may need to get a new one from a land surveyor.  It is usually in the best interests of the Buyer to have a new land survey and elevation certificate done ordered at the same time for a cost savings and most up to date info.  https://www.fema.gov/media-library/assets/documents/32330
