This Fact Sheet provides valuable information for homeowners about elevation certificates and flood insurance. This link explains why your insurance company may require you to have one. They previous owner, insurance company, county, builder or city may have an older one. Otherwise, either the Buyer or Seller may need to get a new one from a land surveyor.
